I am Pepijn van Wijk, currently doing a master's in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam. Besides studying full time, I have a parttime job as a software engineer at a startup called Kexxu. At Kexxu, I have a number of tasks. Some notable ones from the last year have been working on the development of a AI-powered delta robot system, used for pick and place tasks in a factory. When not working on this project, I have been working on designing the architecture and implementation of a multi modal data lake for the Kexxu cloud editor.
When I am not working or studying, I like to work on personal coding project. some projects can be found in the section below, however most projects can be found on my Github. Besides programming, some of my interests include fitness, travel, history and geopolitics.
Currently, I am especially interested in learning about different DL frameworks, namely MLX, which is optimized for Apple's sillicon chips, and tinygrad, a minimal, cross-platform DL framework. To learn more about these frameworks, I read papers and implementations and try to translate them to the new framework. Some of these projects can be found below.
