I am Pepijn van Wijk, currently doing a master's in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam. Besides studying full time, I work as a fullstack software engineer/ AI engineer at a startup called Kexxu. At Kexxu, I have a number of tasks. Some notable ones from the last year have been working on the development of a AI-powered delta robot system, used for pick and place tasks in a factor, as well as developing several custom AI models used in tasks such as eye tracking, eye tracking analysis and anomaly detection. When not working on AI, I have been working on designing the architecture and implementation of a multi modal data lake for the Kexxu cloud editor, as well as adding features & connecting our cloud to our growing number of AI modules.

Besides machine learning, some of my interests include fitness, chess, travel, history and geopolitics.

Currently, I am especially interested in learning about different DL frameworks, namely MLX, which is optimized for Apple's sillicon chips, and tinygrad, a minimal, cross-platform DL framework. To learn more about these frameworks, I read papers and implementations and try to translate them to the new framework. Some of these projects can be found below. Finally, I like to create AI models solving problems I encounter during practicing my hobbies, such as creating chess models and GeoGuessr models.
